No Doubt collection is now complete !
Today Return Of Saturn came in the mail so I can finally post about this. No Doubt has been my favorite band since last year when I started to get into Gwen Stefani. I decided to listen to Tragic Kingdom as it had been on my want list for more than a year because I just love Don’t Speak and I really like Just A Girl. Turned out it loved the album, it’s super different from what I usually listen to and felt really fresh. Decided to listen to No Doubt next and I really liked it. Then Rock Steady (when the IVC version dropped), Push And Shove (because I heard the song Push And Shove and was so obsessed with it) then Beacon Street Collection which I loved because it felt more like classic no doubt and finally Return Of Saturn that I didn’t really get into at first but ended up loving it.
I just love no doubt because all their albums sound and look different from one another so I really couldn’t pick a favorite but I’d have to go with more classic No Doubt so The Beacon Street Collection or Tragic Kingdom.
Some of these were HELL to get as I live in France and you don’t find No Doubt records anywhere but I got lucky and snagged Push And Shove for 30€ !
Overall the sound quality of these (and even packaging, single sleeve for 2 records for Rock Steady and Return Of Saturn) is crap except The Beacon Street Collection and especially Tragic Kingdom (30 minutes on each side). This is due to the loss of the OG masters during the 2008 UMG fire. The Beacon Street Collection’s masters weren’t located as UMG dropped the band after the first album.
Anyway, I’m happy to own these of course ! And now I just need to get The Singles Collection, Rock Steady IVC edition (I don’t think I ever will since it’s way too expensive) and hoping for a Everything In Time press.
